FIRST SEMINAR IN FLORIDA FOR UBP IAS WITH 50 GUESTS

On 12 November, UBP Investment Advisors SA (UBP IAS) held its first seminar at the Leu Gardens in Orlando, Florida, with over 50 guests attending.

After a short introduction by Gary Forster, Managing Partner and co-founder of ForsterBoughman, and our speaker Nicolas Frick presented “The Future of Wealth Management in Switzerland: Planning Trends and FATCA/CRS Update”.

This seminar focused on the benefits of wealth management in Switzerland in a post-FATCA world. Attendees learned about the advantages provided by the Swiss regulatory landscape, international diversification and focused investment strategies. ForsterBoughman also provided a view of current trends and challenges in international wealth planning.

This new thought leadership series was a great opportunity to elevate UBP IAS’s profile in Florida and we are already looking forward to next year’s seminar.

UBP IAS HOLDS ITS FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE IN NEW YORK

Last Friday, UBP Investment Advisors SA (UBP IAS) held its rst annual conference at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, with over sixty guests attending.

After a short introduction by Deepak Soni, CEO UBP IAS, our guest speakers gave presentations on a wide variety of interesting and apposite topics:

Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things - Lee J. Tiedrich from Covington & Burling LLP spoke about harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of things (IoT) and the impact AI and the IoT will have on the growth of the global economy in the coming years.

Investing in Disruptive Innovation - Catherine Wood, founder, CEO and CIO at ARK Invest, talked about investing in disruptive innovation, and highlighted some major innovation platforms with great potential for disruption. With today’s innovation and rapid growth, Mrs. Wood explained which market sectors are being heavily impacted and where they could be heading in terms of sales in the next few years.

Art as an Alternative Asset Class and the Online Art Market - Diana Wierbicki, Partner and Global Head of Art Law at Withersworldwide, introduced our guests to the evolution of collector involvement in the art market, focusing on collectors driven by their passions and the next generation. She provided great insight into what drives art collectors and the industries that are behind the art market. In addition, she set out why collectors are investing in art as an alternative asset class and gave an overview of the online art market.

The New Geopolitics: America, the West and Rising Powers - Marco Vicenzino spoke about the balance of powers in the world. As a global affairs analyst, he touched on the Middle East and how tensions in East Asia are threatening the region’s future stability. He also reviewed how a united Europe remains fragile given the rise in populism and America’s increasing risk of political polarization.

This new series of events was a great opportunity to raise UBP IAS’s public role and we are already looking forward to next year’s conference.
